Open Access and Digital Preservation Policy

Imperium Académico Multidisciplinary Journal (IAMJ) adopts an Open Access model with the aim of promoting the global dissemination of scientific knowledge and facilitating the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas.

All content published by the journal is freely and immediately available at no cost. Articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0), which permits their consultation, use, distribution, reproduction, adaptation and reuse for lawful purposes, provided that appropriate acknowledgement is given to the authors and the original source of publication.

Through this model, IAMJ reaffirms its commitment to the democratisation of knowledge, the international visibility of scientific output and the advancement of research in scientific, technological, social, educational, economic, environmental and humanistic fields.

Digital Preservation Policy

To ensure the long-term integrity, security, availability and preservation of its published scientific content, Imperium Académico Multidisciplinary Journal (IAMJ) maintains a digital preservation policy based on good editorial practices.

The journal applies the following measures:

  • Periodic backup of editorial files, databases, metadata and published content.
  • Preservation of backup copies in independent locations or storage media.
  • Periodic updating and maintenance of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform to reduce the risks of technological obsolescence and facilitate future migrations.
  • Assignment of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to published articles to support their persistent identification, location and academic traceability.
  • Preservation of articles and their metadata in the digital formats available through the editorial platform.
  • Periodic verification of the integrity, availability and accessibility of stored files.
  • Implementation of technical and administrative measures designed to prevent the loss, alteration or unauthorised deletion of content.

The inclusion of IAMJ in external distributed digital preservation networks, such as LOCKSS, CLOCKSS or the PKP Preservation Network, shall be publicly disclosed when its participation has been formally enabled and can be verified.

In the event of technological changes, platform migration or service interruptions, the journal shall endeavour to preserve the files, metadata and other elements required to restore access to its published content.

Interoperability Protocols

Imperium Académico Multidisciplinary Journal (IAMJ) uses the interoperability features of Open Journal Systems (OJS) to facilitate the exchange and harvesting of its publication metadata by repositories, directories, libraries and other academic services.

The journal provides a public interface based on the OAI-PMH protocol (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), enabling its metadata to be automatically harvested by external systems and enhancing the visibility, dissemination and indexing of published articles.
